Tax Credit for Home Buyers

The Tax Credit Program has been Extended & Expanded:

The tax credit law has been extended to June 30, 2010. Eligible first-time homebuyers (people who have not owned a home within the last three years) may request from the IRS a tax credit of up to $8,000 or 10% of the purchase price for a home.

Plus Current Home Owners are now included in the tax credit program. Homeowners who already own or recently owned a primary residence can receive a tax credit of up to $6,500. To qualify, a home buyer must have owned and occupied a primary residence for a period of five consecutive years during the last eight years.
